Apple, known for its sleek and innovative designs, is reportedly diving into the world of foldable devices. According to recent reports from industry analysts and supply chain sources, the tech giant is actively developing foldable versions of both its popular iPhone and iPad lines. Check out all details about the upcoming Foldable iPhones and iPads here.
Apple is reportedly working on a large iPad that expands to the dimensions of two iPad Pros. As reported in Bloomberg's Power On newsletter this Sunday, the firm has been developing the foldable gadget for multiple years and aims to launch it in 2028. The biggest current iPad measures 13 inches, but to enhance gaming and watching shows and movies, the screen on the speculated model would expand wider and fold when not being used, simplifying portability.
Microsoft and Lenovo have tried comparable ideas previously with minimal success. Apple's strategy, however, aims for the larger-size option to appear as a single piece of glass instead of two screens next to each other.
Bloomberg reported that initial Apple prototypes display a "practically" invisible crease on the large iPad, though the company intends to eliminate it completely. Samsung has been working for a long time to reduce the crease in its foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip, but has made little headway. However, Apple is yet to say anything about this.

The report arrives as Apple continues to be the sole significant smartphone maker without a foldable device. The Wall Street Journal reports that the company has encountered issues concerning the protection of the hinge and display screen.
Foldable phones currently represent a small portion of the market but are expected to see considerable growth in the upcoming years, particularly if Apple joins the trend.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is said to be developing a foldable iPhone, but it is expected to be released no earlier than 2026. Simultaneously, Apple is anticipated to introduce a slimmer iPhone next year.

Previously also, a report stated that the first foldable iPhone may be released as early as September 2026. According to preliminary reports, the device may have a screen that is between 7.9 and 8.3 inches in size—small but useful. It is anticipated to have a "clamshell" fold, akin to the Galaxy Z Flip from Samsung. This would enable the phone to fold vertically, giving users a pocket-friendly device when closed and a full-sized iPhone when open.
