Gmail Summary Card Gets Revamped; Supports Package Tracking: All Details
Google has unveiled a significant update to Gmail, introducing a new feature designed to streamline package tracking. The revamped Gmail now includes a dedicated summary card for packages, offering users a centralized view of their shipping information. The summary card provides a concise overview of package details, including the carrier, tracking number, estimated delivery date, and current status.
The most recent Google blog post states that the action buttons and appearance of the revised summary cards have been updated. These consist of the options to schedule an event, send out invitations to others, and establish a bill payment reminder. The purpose of this feature is to provide users with interactive buttons and a summary of important information. As a result, it will save time by eliminating the need to read through lengthy threads and open each email.
Additionally, Google is going to start displaying time-sensitive information and upcoming events at the top of the Gmail inbox with a new "Happening Soon" section. Presently, it will begin with purchase deliveries and assist users in remembering critical dates without having to go through each individual email.
The updated purchase summary cards are now available in the Gmail apps for iOS and Android. In the upcoming months, the event, bill, and travel summary cards will be accessible along with the brand-new "Happening Soon" tab. Additionally, Google intends to integrate summary cards into its search engine.
Meanwhile, Google has added Hindi and other regional language support to Gemini Live. Users can converse with the chatbot in real time using natural language thanks to this AI-powered feature. The AI can be asked questions vocally by users, and it will reply in a similar manner. First unveiled at Google I/O, the feature was created by Google DeepMind. The feature was initially made available to Gemini Advanced subscribers in August. Later, the company allowed users of Android devices running Gemini on the free tier to access Gemini Live. The feature was limited to English speakers up until this point.
