The stage is all set for Google I/O 2024 and so are we for the exciting announcements and the upcoming launches. While the tech giant is yet to reveal any major details, it is expected to make some major announcements on the upcoming operating system including Android 15, Wear OS and Android TV as well as smartphones launches and more. Google is also expected to make some big announcements on generative artificial intelligence (AI). Additionally, the reports suggest that the next lineup of Pixel series smartphones i.e., Pixel 9 could also be unveiled at the event. Google I/O 2024: How to watch


The Google I/O 2024 keynote and many other key sessions will be livestreamed via Google's official YouTube channel. The event will kickstart with Sundar Pichai's keynote at 10 am Pacific Time (10:30 pm India time) followed by a series of other sessions wherein all the new launches will be showcased and major announcements will be made. Google I/O 2024: What to expect


This year, Google has managed to keep the details about I/O 2024 under wraps. However, given AI taking the center-stage, the company is expected to talk about bringing Gemini powered AI features to suite of apps. Here are all the expected details of the announcements that we could witness at the event.

1. Gemini AI
Since the generative artificial intelligence has been taking all over the internet, this year, Google's Gemini AI will be taking the center stage at the upcoming software event which is going to be held tomorrow. A lot of the keynote is likely to be focused on Google fusing Search and generative AI. The tech giant is expected to add Gemini AI functionality to Google Maps, Chrome, Google Workspace, Gmail and more. Google has been testing out features like AI conversation for English language learners, as well as image generation for shopping and virtual try-on.

Additionally, Google is also expected to introduce a new Pixel-exclusive virtual assistant powered by Gemini called 'Pixie'.

2. Android 15
The next expected thing at Google I/O 2024 is the next operating system i.e., Android 15. Yes, the wait is finally over for Android enthusiasts as Google will be giving a sneak peek of the new features of Android 15.
Though, the Android 15 isn't expected to bring a major overhaul in terms of design, but is likely to get many upgrades that could improve user privacy, productivity and security. It is also expected to get satellite connectivity, audio sharing, notification cooldown, app archiving and partial screen sharing.

3. Wear OS 5 and Android TV
The third major announcement of the Google I/O 2024 will be Wear OS 5 and Android TV. Google has finally decided to bring much-needed upgrades to its operating system for wearables. However, the company has been tight-lipped about all the new features of Wear OS 5, it will reportedly bring advances in the Watch Face format, along with how to build and design for an increasing range of devices.

4. Hardware announcements
While I/O has been a software focused event, Google has also made many hardware announcements in the past like Pixel 7a and its first ever Pixel Fold at the I/O event last year. However, this year, Google has already announced Pixel 8a ahead of the event and smartphone would go on sale on May 14, the day of I/O. But there are rumours suggesting Google to unveil its Pixel Fold 2 smartphone at this year's I/O event. Also, the tech giant may drop some teaser for its upcoming foldable device which could be launching with the Pixel 9 series in September and also get a rebranding to Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Apart from these, Google could also talk about the newly launched Pixel 8a and may even go on to highlight its AI prowress with the Gemini AI integration.

The Realme P3 Pro might be launched in India soon as the successor to the Realme P2 Pro 5G, which debuted in the nation in September 2024. The company is said to be preparing to launch the alleged device next month. The model number along with the probable RAM and storage setups of the speculated device have also been disclosed. The company was previously rumored to introduce a Realme P3 Ultra model in India by the end of January.

Realme P3 Pro could debut next month
As per a report from 91Mobiles, the Realme P3 Pro will feature the model number RMX5032. It is anticipated to be introduced in India during the third week of February. Going by this report, we can expect the phone to be released between February 17 and February 26.

The report also suggests that the Realme P3 Pro will be launched in the country featuring "a minimum of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage." Interestingly, the phone was recently seen in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database, indicating a forthcoming launch in India. Additional information regarding the speculated device may appear online as the anticipated launch date approaches.

Previously a report suggested that a Realme P3 Ultra device with the model number RMX5030 is expected to debut in India by the end of January. It is expected to accommodate as much as 12GB of RAM and offer up to 256GB of internal storage. There has not been any update regarding a standard Realme P3 model.

Last year, the Realme P2 Pro was introduced in India for Rs. 21,999, Rupees. 24,999 aur Rs. 27,999 for the 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB variants, respectively. It features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC and a 5,200mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC charging. It features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ 3D curved AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel triple rear camera arrangement, and a 32-megapixel front camera.

1. Camera effects: At present, users can select from 30 backgrounds, filters, and effects while capturing and sharing a video or image in their messages to enhance the visuals.

2. Selfie stickers: One can now also convert selfies into stickers. To begin, press the create sticker icon and you’ll find the camera option to capture a selfie and make your sticker. This option is currently available on Android and will be released on iOS shortly.

3. Share a sticker collection: Have you found a sticker pack that you think a friend would enjoy? You can now share them straight in your conversations.

4. Faster responses: You can now double-tap a message to react and easily browse your frequently used reactions.

In addition to these, the WhatsApp has also been recently spotted developing a new feature for its Web version that will enable users to conduct a web search on shared images. The features, known as Search on Web, will reportedly allow users to perform a reverse image search through Google rapidly, all within the messaging platform. This functionality is likely to reduce the dissemination of false information and safeguarding users from being deceived by online frauds. Notably, the company started the testing this feature on WhatsApp for Android in November, last year.
