Google Meet Adds New AI Feature ‘Take notes for me’: Here's How it Works
Google has announced a new AI-powered feature for its video conferencing platform, Google Meet, called "Take Notes for Me." This innovative tool aims to simplify meeting productivity by automatically generating summaries of key points discussed during calls.

The 'Take Notes for Me' feature leverages Google's advanced AI technology to transcribe real-time conversations and identify the most important topics and action items. These summaries are presented to users concisely and organised, making reviewing and following up on meeting outcomes easier.

To use the 'Take Notes for Me' feature, users must join a Google Meet call and enable the feature from the meeting settings. Once activated, the AI will transcribe the conversation and generate a summary. Users can access the summary at any time during or after the meeting.

The feature is designed to be particularly useful for teams that frequently hold meetings and process a large amount of information. By automatically generating summaries, 'Take Notes for Me' can help reduce the time and effort required to review and follow up on meeting discussions.

In addition to summarising key points, the 'Take Notes for Me' feature also allows users to search for specific keywords or phrases within the generated summary. This makes it easy to find important information quickly and efficiently.

Google has emphasised that the 'Take Notes for Me' feature is still in development and may be flawed in some situations. However, the company believes that this tool has the potential to improve meeting productivity and collaboration significantly.

The introduction of the 'Take Notes for Me' feature is part of Google's ongoing efforts to enhance its video conferencing platform with AI-powered features. In recent years, Google has also introduced features such as automatic captions, noise cancellation, and background blur to Google Meet.
