iQOO's next flagship smartphone may skip the iQOO 14 branding and launch as the iQOO 15 series, according to a recent leak from Smart Pikachu via Weibo. The reason behind this could be cultural beliefs in some Asian countries where the number 4 is considered unlucky. Here’s what we know so far.

iQoo is reportedly greasing up to launch its next-gen flagship Android smartphone, the 15 Pro, even though the brand's most premium handset of the moment is the 13. The upcoming device is now tipped to build on its predecessor's battery upgrades with an increased rated capacity. The 15 Pro might also have one of the best displays in the industry on its debut.

iQoo 15 Pro: Expected Specifications

The recent leak suggests that iQOO is returning the Pro model, which was missing from last year's iQOO 13 lineup. If the information is accurate, the iQOO 15 Pro will have significant upgrades, including a 7,000mAh battery, a periscope telephoto camera, and Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset.

The 15 Pro is now backed to outdo it with one of the 7,000mAh batteries iQoo is said to have in development. It might be capable of charging at 100W or even the class-leading 120W of the 13 by the time the 15 Pro is ready to launch in late 2025.

The handset is also thought to have a 2K display with an integrated ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, just like the 13. The 15 Pro's panel is also believed to set itself apart by coming directly from Samsung and having even better brightness controls.

The allegedly top-end display might be driven by cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 silicon and a plain 15 sibling of potentially similar specs, except for the upgraded periscope zoom camera supposedly reserved for the 15 Pro.
