Motorola Edge 50 which is said to be the slimmest phone with military grade certification has been launched in India. The phone is live for sale via the official website as well as the Flipkart. Motorola Edge 50 has been unveiled in India and is claimed to be the slimmest MIL-810H-rated curved smartphone in the segment. The phone supports an IP68-rated splash resistant. The phone comes equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 accelerated edition chipset and a 50-megapixel Sony-Lytia 700C led dual rear camera. The new handset joins the Motorola Edge 50 Pro , Edge 50 Ultra , and Edge 50 Fusion that have already been launched in India.

Motorola Edge 50 Price and availability


The Motorola Edge 50 price starts in India at Rs 27,999 for the sole 8GB + 256GB RAM and Configuration . The handset will be available for sale via Flipkart and the official Motorola India website starting from August 8 onwards. Additionally, customers using an Axis Bank or IDFC First Bank credit card or credit card EMI can avail an instant discount of Rs. 2,000, bringing the price down to Rs 25,999.

The phone will be available in three colourways — Jungle Green, Pantone Peach Fuzz, and Koala Grey. The first two colour options get a vegan leather finish, while the third one sports a vegan suede finish.


Motorola Edge 50 Specifications


The Motorola Edge 50 sports a 6.7-inch 1.5K Super HD pOLED curved display offering a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,900 nits of peak brightness. The phone also has an HDR10+ support, and SGS Blue Light Reduction certification. It is also said to support Smart Water Touch technology allowing users to access the phone even with wet hands.

Powering the handset is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 AE (Accelerated Edition) chipset, that comes paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It runs on Android 14-based Hello UI out-of-the-box.

For optics, the Motorola Edge 50 packs a Moto AI-backed triple rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel Sony-Lytia 700C primary sensor. The phone also gets a 10-megapixel telephoto shooter with up to 3x optical zoom, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The phone houses a 32-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

For audio, the Motorola Edge 50 features Dolby Atmos-backed dual-stereo speakers. It also gets an IP68 rating for dust and splash resistance and a MIL-810H military-grade certification which is claimed to withstand extreme temperatures and offer resistance among other things. For security, the handset features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Motorola Edge 50 ships with a 5,000mAh battery in the Edge 50 with support for 68W TurboCharging and 15W wireless charging. Connectivity supports include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS and USB Type-C connectivity.
