The Redmi Watch 5 Active is set to make its Indian debut shortly, the company declared on Thursday. In addition to having a marginally bigger display than its predecessor, it will come with a longer battery life—up to several days. In the days leading up to its launch, the company has begun to disclose some of the wearable fitness tracker's primary features. The Redmi Watch 3, its predecessor, was available for iOS and Android smartphones and debuted in India in August 2023.

Redmi Watch 5 Active India Launch Timeline
A landing page for the upcoming wearable device on the company's website seems to confirm that it will be available in at least two colorways. The Redmi Watch 5 Active is scheduled to launch in India on August 27.

Redmi Watch 5 Active Specifications
Some of the wearable device's specifications have been made public by the company ahead of the Redmi Watch 5 Active's launch in India. It will have a 2-inch screen, which is marginally bigger than the 1.48-inch screen on the Redmi Watch 3 Active, which was released in the previous year. Whether the Redmi Watch 5 Active will have an LCD screen like its predecessor is still up in the air.

In comparison to the Watch 3 Active model, the Redmi Watch 5 Active is anticipated to provide a longer battery backup. The company claims that the upcoming fitness tracker will offer up to 18 days of battery life, whereas the latter only offered up to 12 days on a single charge.

The Redmi Watch 5 Active will come with support for a new Clear+ Calling feature, which seems to be targeted at users who travel in noisy environments, according to the company. Last year's model came with support for making and receiving calls via a connected smartphone.

Regarding software, Xiaomi's HyperOS skin and voice control through Amazon's Alexa assistant will be available on the upcoming Redmi Watch 5 Active. Additionally, the fitness tracker will be able to track more than 140 sport modes, according to the company. The company is probably going to release more information about the fitness tracker before its August 27 launch date.
