Samsung has unveiled its new M-series smartphone, Galaxy M55, in global markets, including Europe, South America, Chile and more. The smartphone has already debuted in India in the mid-range price segment. Powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, the phone packs up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. Samsung Galaxy M55, launched in India two weeks back, has also been made available in Europe and South America. Unlike its predecessor, i.e., Galaxy M54 which never came to Europe, the smartphone is now accessible to more users across the globe. The phone can be seen listed on Samsung Portugal as well as Samsung Brazil, Samsung Peru and Samsung Chile. The Galaxy M55 is a mid-range smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Available in two colourways, denim Black and Light Green, the new Samsung Galaxy M55 costs €500 and €550 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and the 8GB + 256GB variant, respectively. In Brazil, it costs BRL 2,700 for the 256GB storage model and PEN 1,700 in Peru. Additionally, the phone is available at a price of CLP 450,000 in Chile and CHF 392 for a 128GB model in Switzerland.
The Samsung Galaxy M55 sports a large 6.7-inch display with Full HD+ resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) and a Super AMOLED Plus display. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. The smartphone ships with a triple camera setup at the rear, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS (optical image stabilisation) support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, it houses a 50-megapixel sensor.
The Galaxy M55 is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for up to 45W fast charging. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. The phones run on Android 14-based OneUI 6 out of the box and are eligible for four major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.
Other key highlights of the phone include support for 5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type-C connectivity.
