Apple iOS 18.2 Update to Roll Out This Week; Will Add Apple Intelligence, Image Playground and More
Apple is gearing up to release iOS 18.2, a significant update that brings a host of new features and improvements to the iPhone experience. The update is expected to roll out this week, offering users a range of exciting functionalities. Check out all the exciting features and upgrades expected to come with Apple iOS 18.2.
Apple iOS 18.2 features
1. Image Playground: With iOS 18, users will finally be able to use Apple's AI model to create images. In iOS 18, there is a stand-alone app called Image Playground that lets users make their own images based on notes or a conversation in the Messages app. Apple also offers additional ideas, like outfits, objects, or places. But at the moment, the Image Playground feature produces cartoonish images rather than photorealistic ones.
2. Image Wand and Genmoji: The new Genmoji feature employs AI to assist in the creation of some brand-new emoji, which are subsequently neatly stored in the emoji keyboard. With the help of information from the People album in the Photos app, Genmoji also enables users to create emoji of their loved ones.
Meanwhile, Image Wand is without a doubt one of the most awesome features of the latest update. With just text prompts, iPad users can transform their rough sketches in the Notes app into a complete image.
3. ChatGPT integration with Siri: Apple is finally integrating ChatGPT with Siri, which means that whenever the voice assistant gets stuck, OpenAI's chatbot will be able to assist it. According to Apple, users will be notified before their requests are routed to ChatGPT, and OpenAI will not be able to store any requests while masking their IP addresses. Notably, Apple users can process the requests without logging into their ChatGPT account, though they can if they have a paid subscription.
4. New Camera Control settings: With the iPhone 16 series, Apple added more options for the touch-sensitive button known as Camera Control. Double-pressing the Camera Control button during a photo shoot allows users to lock exposure and focus. The "Camera Control" menu in Settings allows you to turn on this feature, which is turned off by default.
