The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a critical warning for Google Chrome users, highlighting serious security vulnerabilities in older popular web browser versions. Malicious actors could exploit these vulnerabilities to gain unauthorised access to user devices, potentially leading to severe consequences.

CERT-In has classified these vulnerabilities as "High" severity, emphasising the urgent need for users to take action. The advisory states these flaws could allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable systems. This means hackers could gain control of a user's device, steal sensitive information such as passwords, banking details, and personal data, or even install malware for further malicious activities.

The affected versions of Chrome include those before 131.0.6778.69/.70 for Windows and Mac and versions before 131.0.6778.69 for Linux. Users with these older versions are strongly advised to update their Chrome browsers to the latest version immediately.

Google has already released security updates to address these critical vulnerabilities. Users can update their Chrome browsers by following these simple steps:

1. Open the Google Chrome browser.
2. Click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the browser window.
3. Select "Help" and then "About Google Chrome."
4. If an update is available, Chrome will automatically download and install it.
5. Once the update is installed, restart the browser.

By updating to the latest version of Chrome, users can significantly enhance their online security and protect themselves from potential cyberattacks.

CERT-In has also recommended that users exercise caution while browsing the internet, avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading files from unknown sources, and use strong and unique passwords for all online accounts.

CMF Phone 2: Expected Specifications

Earlier leaks suggest the CMF Phone 2 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. However, we are unsure if it would carry the same chip as the pricier Nothing Phone (3a). Let’s see.
