Googles March Pixel Drop Gets Security Upgrades and Gemini Live All Details
Google Pixel 9 Series
Google has rolled out the March Pixel Drop on Tuesday for compatible Pixel devices. According to the company, the latest first Pixel Drop brings a number of new features. It is now possible to speak to Gemini Live, the conversational AI tool, in 45 different languages. Additionally, the Pixel Screenshots app now has a new Suggestions feature that, as the name implies, offers users suggestions for screenshots they can add to their collection. Additionally, Pixel Studio, Pixel AI weather reports, Pixel Recorder, and Satellite SOS have been added in the quarterly update.

Google's March Pixel Drop: Features and upgrades
In a blog post, Google highlighted the new features that are exclusive to Pixel devices as part of the March Pixel Drop. The company claims that Gemini Live has enhanced conversational capabilities and increased language support, enabling users to communicate in over 45 languages without having to continuously change settings. The update expands the conversational AI tool's multimodal capabilities, which were initially unveiled with the Pixel 9 series, to include Pixel 6 and later devices as well as Pixel Fold devices. Users will be able to add files, YouTube videos, and images to enhance search.

Additionally, in the upcoming weeks, Google will use Gemini to introduce the capability of having conversations with Gemini Live through screen sharing or live video. The Pixel Screenshots app also supports work profiles. In Pixel Studio, users will be able to use basic text-based descriptions to create original images of people that they can share with their friends and family. Connected cameras are another new feature. Google claims that it enables Pixel owners to connect their phones to a GoPro or other Pixel camera. After that, they can stream from various perspectives on social media sites using all of their cameras.

Google will make Pixel Screenshots, Pixel Studio, Pixel AI weather reports, and the Pollen tracker in the Weather app available in Germany and Japan with the March Pixel Drop. The Recorder app now offers AI-powered summaries to Japanese speakers as well.

Another significant addition is Scam Detection in Messages on Pixel. Using on-device AI, the feature analyzes conversational text patterns, recognizes and flags those linked to scams, and instantly alerts users. Additionally, in order to help users contact emergency services in dire situations where cellular or Wi-Fi networks are unavailable, the company is expanding Satellite SOS to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and Canada.

According to Google, Pixel owners can now share their real-time location with friends and family via the Find My Device network so they can keep tabs on them while they're out and about. Video recording is also supported by the Pixel Fold's Dual Screen Preview feature. Furthermore, the owners of Pixel 9 Pro Fold can now use Add Me with Dual Screen Preview features.

Updates for the Pixel Watch

According to reports, Google's Loss of Pulse Detection feature, which was first included with the Pixel Watch 3, has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and will be available to consumers starting at the end of this month. According to the manufacturer, this feature can alert emergency services on the wearer's behalf when there is no pulse, which could be caused by a number of conditions, including pulmonary cardiac arrest, respiratory or circulatory failure, overdose, or poisoning.
