The HMD Barbie Flip Phone is creating quite a buzz as it brings a nostalgic twist to the modern smartphone world. With the retro-inspired tech, HMD Global, the Nokia phones manufacturer, will reportedly tap into the growing trend of flip phones by introducing a device that’s not only functional but also infused with a playful Barbie theme. HMD, the Nokia phone maker is gearing up to launch a Barbie themed Flip phone very soon in India. The company has teased the launch via its official website while sharing that the phone will debut on August 28. The smartphone was first showcased at the MWC earlier this year, however, the company hasn't revealed any key details about the upcoming phone. Ahead of the launch, the phone has reportedly been spotted on a Chinese certification website revealing some of the device's key features.

According to the TENAA listing, the Barbie Flip Phone will sport a dual-tone pink color scheme reminiscent of classic Nokia models. The device is also likely to have a prominent 'Barbie' branding on the front, while also featuring volume and power buttons on the right side, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a charging port on the left.

According to the new listing on TENAA, the upcoming HMD Barbie flip phone will sport a 2.8-inch primary TFT display (240×320 pixels) and a 1.77-inch secondary TFT display (128×160 pixels). It is tipped to be powered by a single-core processor clocked at 1.05GHz, which could be paired with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of storage. The device is also speculated to get a T9 QWERTY keyboard, which is sure to add a retro touch to the experience.

For optics, the handset could get a single rear camera with LED flash. In terms of connectivity, the device is expected to support 4G LTE, dual-SIM support, Bluetooth, and USB. Additional leaked details are a built-in battery to provide ample power, and support for 4G LTE, dual-SIM, Bluetooth, and USB.

Meanwhile, HMD recently launched their first ever smartphones without the Nokia branding. The series include HMD Crest and Crest Max smartphones come with 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display. The handsets are powered by Unisoc T760 5G 6nm SoC, which the company claims to secure over 5.1 Lakhs AnTuTu score. It runs on Android 14 out-of-the-box. For cameras, HMD Crest ships with a dual camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main camera and 2MP rear camera. On the front, it ships with a 50-megapixel selfie shooter. Further, the phone gets a 5000mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging support.
