Qualcomm launches Snapdragon X platform for affordable AI PCs in India, Starting at Rs 65,990
Qualcomm is making a big push into AI-powered computing in India with the launch of its Snapdragon X platform. First introduced at CES 2025, the chipset is designed to bring AI-driven performance to more budget-friendly laptops, explicitly targeting the growing Copilot+ PC category.

The Snapdragon X platform is built on an Arm-based architecture, featuring Oryon CPU cores and a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of delivering 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second). This powerful combination enables efficient on-device AI processing, crucial for supporting Microsoft's Copilot+ PC platform and its exclusive AI-driven features.

This launch is a part of Qualcomm's broader push into the AI-powered computing space in India. Qualcomm aims to democratise access to AI technology by focusing on affordability, making it available to a larger population segment.
"Building on the overwhelming success of laptops powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus, the Snapdragon X platform is set to revolutionise the accessibility of Copilot+ PCs in India," said Savi Soin, senior vice president & president (India), Qualcomm International Inc. "With Snapdragon X, we are not just continuing our legacy of innovation but also making advanced AI technology more accessible to everyone."
The first laptops in India to feature the Snapdragon X chip are the ASUS Vivobook 16 and Zenbook A14. These laptops are now available for pre-order through ASUS' official website, ASUS Exclusive stores, and e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. The official launch is scheduled for March 10.

Qualcomm has also confirmed that other OEMs will launch laptops powered by the Snapdragon X chip in the future. This indicates a growing ecosystem of affordable AI PCs, giving consumers a wider range of choices.
