Redmi K80 Series Teased: Pro Variant to be Equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, All Details Here
The Redmi K80 series has been officially teased by the brand's General Manager on Weibo. This upcoming lineup is expected to feature a high-end model powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, signalling a focus on top-tier performance and positioning it as a competitive option in the flagship smartphone market.
In addition to this, it is also revealed that the Redmi K80 smartphone will be equipped with improved battery, better display, and imaging capability as well, as compared to its predecessors. The Redmi K80 series is set to feature a distinctive design with a metal frame and a new texture. With the Pro model equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the series is expected to be priced at the higher end.
Expected Price Range: Redmi K80 Pro
The Redmi K80 Pro is likely to be priced under 4,000 yuan, aiming to be more affordable than the OnePlus 13, which is above iQOO 13’s 3,999 yuan (approx. $559 / Rs. 47,160). Last year’s Redmi K70 Pro, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, started at 3,299 yuan, though it’s uncertain if the K80 Pro will match this. Currently, the Realme GT 7 Pro, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite, is the most budget-friendly option at 3,699 yuan, with special launch offers bringing it down to 3,599 yuan. This may provide context for the K80 Pro’s pricing strategy.
Redmi K80 & Redmi K80 Pro Specifications
Based on earlier reports, the Redmi K80 smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen SoC and will also get 90W wired along with 30W wireless charging. Alongside this, the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Redmi K80 Pro is said to get 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is also expected to pack a Light Fusion 800 sensor, a 50MP 3x telephoto camera and a 32MP front camera.
Both the smartphones, Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro are rumored to feature a 6.67-inch 2K 120Hz flat display from TCL C9, a glass back, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Set to launch later this November, the series will debut alongside new headphones, smartwatches, and other AiOT products, with the precise launch date expected soon.
Update on Redmi K80E
In a recent stream, Redmi’s team confirmed a shift back to a dual-flagship lineup with only the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, omitting a successor to the K70E. This simplified lineup suggests a focus on the main models for the K80 series.
