The Redmi K80 and K80 Pro smartphones were unveiled by Redmi in China in November last year and now the brand plans to expand the K80 series by launching the Redmi K80 Ultra later this year. The alleged Redmi K80 Ultra will reportedly sport a 1.5K display with flat edges and narrow bezels. Check out all details here.
Rumored key specifications of the Redmi K80 Ultra
In July 2024, Redmi showcased the Redmi K70 Ultra, equipped with the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. This timeline indicates that the Redmi K80 Ultra is expected to be released around the same period this year. Although the tipster did not directly reveal the device's name in the recent leak, it appears he might have disclosed important information about the K80 Ultra ahead of its release.
According to DCS' leak, the existing engineering prototype of the Redmi K80 Ultra features a flat OLED display with thin bezels on every side. It is reported to accommodate a 1.5K resolution and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The upcoming version, similar to the K70 Ultra, will feature a metal central frame and a chassis that is both dustproof and water-resistant with an IP68 rating, ensuring its durability.
The K80 Ultra will include the Dimensity 9400 Plus processor. The leak suggests that the K80 Ultra is expected to feature a battery capacity of no less than 6,500mAh. Considering that the previous model contains a 5,500mAh battery, this represents a considerable improvement.
Another leak from the same source indicates that iQOO, Realme, and OnePlus intend to introduce smartphones powered by Dimensity 9400 Plus by mid-2025. The provisional names for these gadgets are iQOO Neo 10S Pro, Realme Neo 7 Pro, and OnePlus Ace 5s. Among these, the offerings from Realme and OnePlus are anticipated to include a 1.5K resolution OLED screen with a flight design, a metal mid-frame, a glass/fiberglass chassis, a good primary camera, and a battery of approximately 7,000mAh+ capacity.
The Realme device will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen, whereas the OnePlus product will utilize an optical fingerprint scanner. The tipster appears to have also disclosed that the iQOO Neo 10S Pro might be the inaugural phone to launch with the D9400+ chip.
