Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025: Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Unveiled: Details
Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event today, January 22, where it has unveiled its latest iteration of its premium Galaxy S25 series lineup along with a surprise reveal. The Galaxy S25 series has come with top-of-the-line hardware and the latest software. Here's everything unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event 2025.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 5G
The top-of-the-line Galaxy S25 Ultra is still the priciest of the group. Its 6.9-inch screen and rounded edge provide a "comfortable grip." The phone boasts a titanium body with Corning's Gorilla Armor 2 for "advanced drop protection" and scratch resistance, making it the "slimmest, lightest, and most durable Galaxy Ultra device ever," according to Samsung.
In contrast to the two smaller models, the Ultra's camera sensors received an upgrade in specifications: its ultrawide lens, which was only 12MP in the previous model, is now 50MP. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which powers the S25 Ultra and its siblings, has been modified to enable to process a large number of AI functionalities on-device. It's better for privacy, as well. The Galaxy S25 Ultra packs up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage.
Samsung Galaxy S25 and Samsung Galaxy S25+
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ RAM has been increased to 12GB from 8GB. This will better manage the phones' AI features, and works in tandem with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The hardware of the phone is strikingly similar to the S24 and S24+. The Galaxy S24 measures 6.2-inch while the Galaxy S25+ sports 6.7-inch screens, respectively, are still available. Samsung's new ProScaler AI tool can upscale images in real time. Samsung claims that it can improve visual quality by 40%.
Galaxy AI
Samsung heavily relies on AI features to entice users to spend hard-earned money on the new models, as the majority of hardware upgrades (apart from the Snapdragon chip) this generation are soft. This year, it's more context-sensitive and personalized, with the goal of evolving from a collection of one-time tools to a more contextually aware assistant.
AI is a key component of the phones' camera features, and the Qualcomm chip improves the phones' ability to detect noise, which Samsung claims results in improved low-light performance.
