The popular instant messaging app WhatsApp, which is used by billions of people worldwide, is making it simpler to personalize messages that have been forwarded to you. The feature, which is exclusive to a small group of beta testers, enables users to add a personalized message to text, documents, and other types of content. The upcoming change will remove the need for users to manually send a message after forwarding an image, document, or text message, in contrast to the current implementation that is restricted to images, videos, and GIFs.

According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, the functionality is currently restricted to users on WhatsApp beta for Android v2.24.25.3 and works with text, documents, videos, links, and photos. If you wish to forward content and include additional context or information in the message, this feature may be useful. Additionally, it removes the necessity of deleting an existing caption or doing so separately.

The report adds that a few beta testers have seen the option to include a message when forwarding an existing image. It is mentioned that the feature can be used to send a new message with content that wasn't forwarded, in addition to forwarded files or messages.

Recently, WhatsApp has also introduced the voice message transcripts worldwide, enabling all users to convert voice messages to text. The new feature's announcement states that it is available "to help you keep up with conversations no matter what you're doing." Transcripts will be released globally in a select few languages over the course of the coming weeks. The business plans to add additional languages in the near future.

WhatsApp claimed in a blog post that voice messaging adds a personal touch to communication with friends and family.
