YouTube Premium Lite Launched With Ad-Free Video Streaming: All Details
YouTube has just introduced a new, more budget-friendly way to enjoy ad-free video streaming- YouTube Premium Lite, a stripped-down version of the popular subscription service. It is perfect for those wanting to ditch the annoying ads but don't need all the bells and whistles of the full Premium package. Here's everything you need to know.

YouTube Premium Lite: What will you get
Given its lower price, users would miss out on some features in comparison to the standard YouTube Premium plan. Despite providing ad-free YouTube video streaming, the Alphabet-owned platform does not include YouTube Music, so there is no way to stream both music and music videos without advertisements. According to YouTube, they are unable to use features like background playback and offline music downloads, but they can still listen to tracks with advertisements on the app.
YouTube emphasizes that "most" videos will be available for ad-free streaming with its new Premium Lite plan. But that doesn't mean you won't see any advertisements. According to the platform, advertisements might still be visible.
In the upcoming weeks, the Premium Lite plan will be extended to Australia, Germany, and Thailand after being launched as a pilot in the US. Last month, there was initial news about the introduction of a new, reasonably priced YouTube Premium subscription. Interestingly, YouTube's ad-free plan costs $13.99 (about Rs. 1,200) a month in the United States. Notably, Google has also confirmed that PiP outside the US still requires YouTube Premium.
According to the company, YouTube has 125 million subscribers overall, including trial users. The video streaming platform is commemorating its 20th anniversary this year. The new plan's extension of YouTube Premium is just one of the ways the platform hopes to provide users with a range of content consumption options.
